04S: King of Hearts | English - Spanish | Printed

by Gunter's Fables

This Fable contains many wonderful ideas on generating more Earth-friendly electricity. We focus on the whale and its incredible capacity to generate major voltage with each pump of its heart. We humans can learn a lot about bio-batteries, health and how to be energy efficient like the natural systems found in nature.

This Fable was inspired by Jorge Reynolds. was trained in Colombia, South America, and in Cambridge, England, as an electrical engineer and had the brilliant idea to build the first pacemaker with an external battery. His original pacemaker from 1958 is exhibited at the National Museum of Science and Industry in London. As a research scientist, Jorge Reynolds was inspired by species such as flies, dolphins, iguanas, and especially whales, who have the largest hearts of all animals.

Gunters Fables are structured to include the following learning guides and categories: Did you Know, Think about it, Teachers and Parents Guide, Academic Knowledge, Emotional Intelligence, The Arts, Systems: Making the Connections, Capacity to Implement and who the Fable is Inspired By!
