12: How To Take It Apart | Dutch & English
We live in a society where everything we consume is produced from raw materials, and the disposal of waste leaves much to be desired. This story sets the record straight. We look at children's ability to take things apart in a matter of seconds and encourage adults to follow this example and dispose of waste in more creative and resourceful ways. We are the only species capable of making fire at will and at the same time, the only species that produces waste that no one desires. Animals, as representatives of the natural world, certainly seem more intelligent than humans in their handling of waste.
This Fable was inspired by Gloria Isabel Niño López. She developed products and processes based on Latin-American biodiversity: biodegradable cleaning products without tenso-active (water tension reducing) ingredients, natural insecticides, natural color pigments from Colombian plants, nutrients for agro-products, absorbents for bad odors, and even pig farm cleansing systems applied at an industrial scale.
Gunter's Fables are structured to include the following learning guides and categories: Did You Know, Think About It, Teachers and Parents Guide, Academic Knowledge, Emotional Intelligence, The Arts, Systems: Making the Connections, Capacity to Implement and even who the fable is inspired by!
